Today, the Commission postpones the first date for compliance with the requirements on harmonised information for emergency health response in the Regulation on harmonised information for poison centres to 1 January 2021.

The Regulation was adopted in March 2017 to improve the availability of information needed in case of poisoning by harmonising the requirements for the information shown on chemical products. These requirements, which are set out in the Annex to the Regulation, allow producers and importers of chemical mixtures (such as detergents, paints and household chemicals) to provide uniform information on the chemical composition of their products.

Today, compliance with some of the requirements set in the Annex was postponed from 1 January 2020 to 1 January 2021. This will allow the Commission and other stakeholders to better address certain concerns expressed about the workability of some aspects of the harmonised rules before the compliance date.
